Students moving between cities, or comparing their results with friends on a different board, often run into a simple but confusing question: does a "B" grade mean the same thing on every board? The short answer is mostly yes, but the details are worth understanding.
Both the Punjab boards (BISE Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, and others) and the Federal Board (FBISE) follow the same broad structure set by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC): marks are converted into letter grades (A+, A, B, C, D, E) based on percentage ranges, and these ranges are largely standardized nationally so that results are comparable across boards.
Exact boundaries can shift slightly year to year based on IBCC policy updates, so always check the current year's official notification rather than relying on older figures.

For most university admissions in Pakistan, what matters is your final percentage (and sometimes your aggregate/merit score), not which specific board issued your certificate — as long as it's a recognized board under IBCC. If you're applying with an aggregate that mixes Matric and FSc percentages from different boards, that's normal and handled the same way regardless of board.
