The formula
UET Lahore merit for ECAT-based programs: Aggregate = (Matric ÷ total × 17) + (FSc Part-I ÷ Part-I total × 50) + (ECAT ÷ 400 × 33). UET states that merit is calculated on FSc Part-I (first year) marks together with the ECAT score.

Worked example
Matric 950 of 1100 at 17%: 950 ÷ 1100 × 17 = 14.68. FSc Part-I 480 of 550 at 50%: 480 ÷ 550 × 50 = 43.64. ECAT 260 of 400 at 33%: 260 ÷ 400 × 33 = 21.45. Aggregate = 14.68 + 43.64 + 21.45 = 79.77%.
About the ECAT score
According to UET's admission FAQ, the ECAT is out of 400 with 4 marks for each correct answer and 0 for an unanswered question. There is no minimum passing score, but you need at least 60% in Intermediate to apply for engineering programs and an overall aggregate of at least 50%.
Why the weights may differ
UET has used different splits in different sessions (for example 25% / 45% / 30% in earlier years), and some non-ECAT programs have their own formula. This page uses the 17 / 50 / 33 split listed for Fall 2026. If your program or session uses different weights, edit them in the calculator.

What is the UET Lahore aggregate formula?
For ECAT-based programs in Fall 2026 the split is 17% Matric, 50% FSc Part-I and 33% ECAT. Convert each to a percentage, multiply by its weightage and add them.
What is the ECAT out of?
The ECAT is out of 400 marks. Enter 400 as the total in the ECAT row.
Does UET use FSc Part-I or the full FSc?
UET's FAQ says merit is based on First Year / Part-I marks together with the ECAT score. Enter your Part-I obtained marks and Part-I total.
Is there negative marking in ECAT?
UET's FAQ marks 4 for a correct answer and 0 for no answer, and its example gives no deduction for wrong answers. Check the latest ECAT notice to be sure.
How many ECAT marks do I need for my target merit?
